Then in 2001, the roof fell in on several industries and the economy stumbled badly, only to grow again despite international conflicts and rising oil prices. By 2006, according to Warren Buffet, we were poised for substantive growth, but it only lasted two years before falling into the “Great Recession.”
Now in our second decade of this millennium, we are again struggling to find our economic footing, while battling almost ten percent unemployment. Yet the stock market has risen for almost two years and corporate earnings are strong. Are we looking at inflation around the corner, even with massive trade / budget deficits? What’s the future?
