Research Associates focus on assisting Consultants in the search execution process as well as supporting the firm’s business development initiatives. Researchers take an active role in each step of the search process, including understanding a given marketplace, discovering relevant talent, and providing creative solutions to continuously refine search criteria. Research Associates also work closely with Vice Presidents, Senior Vice Presidents, and Managing Directors in the business development process, creating comprehensive guides to a variety of industries and functions as well as materials that highlight the firm’s expertise to current and potential clients. Our Research Associates are the foundation of the firm and will gain the business acumen and professional training to quickly progress in the field.
Research Managers take an active role in the leadership of the Research Team. A Research Manager supervises the current Research Team, onboards and trains incoming Research Associates, and oversees the Raines International Internship Program. This role focuses on overall research process improvement and data integrity while continuing to assist Consultants in search execution and business development. Our Research Managers have strong input in the long-term goals of the team and are accountable for the strategic vision of the Research function.
Consultants serve clients directly by carrying out searches to completion. This includes working with Research Associates to assess the talent marketplace as well as cultivating relationships with target candidates. Consultants also work with leadership to understand and participate more fully in the business development process. This role provides the opportunity to impact the wider firm in a variety of ways, as Consultants explore their own interests and abilities in order to leverage their skills into applicable business functions and initiatives that add value.
Vice President & Senior Vice President
Vice Presidents and Senior Vice Presidents take on more of a leadership role in search execution, flexing between managing both the candidate and client experience, as well as directing research efforts. At this tenure, many of our Consultants solidify their preferred practice area to develop, focusing on specific industries or functions. Vice Presidents and Senior Vice Presidents have the opportunity to contribute to proactive business development by creating strong relationships with current and potential clients.
Managing Directors truly own their practice area and book of business, becoming thought leaders in a specialized area to create innovative solutions for their clients. Directors may participate actively in execution, but their focus is on managing client relationships and leading search efforts, ensuring that the work of the research and consulting teams under their purview are cohesive and communicated to their clients. At this level, Managing Directors also recruit senior talent and closely examine and respond to trends within the search industry. As our most senior leaders, our Directors guide the firm’s strategic vision to ensure that Raines International Inc. continues to be at the forefront of executive search.
