As head of Raines’ Financial Officers Practice, Molly Gonzales has placed CFOs in PE-backed, publicly traded, and privately held organizations across the retail, consumer, industrial, tech/software, and financial services industries. Having spent the majority of her career working with complex real estate securities and distressed credit opportunities, Molly brings unique experience across the private equity industry. Her expertise spans across the financial and operational sectors and includes business development, corporate strategy, fundraising, accounting, finance, compliance, and human capital. Molly has learned from and excelled in both mature organizations and growth-oriented start-ups, where she focused on scaling and establishing teams and processes in an early stage organization/
Prior to Raines, Molly was the CFO of a start-up mortgage investment platform and partnered with sophisticated institutional investors to deploy capital in the mortgage servicing rights (MSR) market. Molly was primarily responsible for setting up and managing finance and accounting, as well as oversight of human resources, business development, fundraising, legal, and compliance. In the first year of operations, the platform raised over $600mm of capital commitments and grew tremendously. Molly also worked with the the distressed credit team at Siguler Guff, where she managed operations for five distressed funds, two debut strategies and several separately managed accounts. Prior to that, she worked with Fortress Investment Group’s publicly traded REIT, New Residential Investment Corp (NYSE: NRZ), and Fortress’s private MSR Funds. Molly started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she worked in the alternative investments space and focused on global asset management. While most of Molly’s career has been focused on finance and corporate operations, her natural inclination is towards leadership development and the people/talent side of business.
