About Molly

Molly is a Senior Vice President in Raines’ Financial Leaders Practice and also works closely with the FinTech and Business Services Practices. Molly has unique experience across the private equity industry and has spent the majority of her career working with complex real estate securities and distressed credit opportunities. Her expertise spans across the financial and operational sectors and includes business development, corporate strategy, fundraising, accounting, finance, compliance, and human capital. Molly has learned from and excelled in both mature organizations and growth-oriented start-ups where she focused on scaling and establishing teams and processes in an early stage organization.

While most of Molly’s career has been focused on finance and corporate operations, her natural inclination is towards the people/talent side of business. As a former CFO herself, Molly is process-oriented and driven to optimize each company’s unique goals through people/talent and leadership development. Molly is deeply motivated to promote effective leaders and drive organizational change.

Industry & Consulting Experience

Prior to Raines, Molly spent her entire career in the private equity and alternative investment space. Most recently, Molly served as the CFO of a start-up mortgage investment platform and partnered with sophisticated institutional investors to deploy capital in the mortgage servicing rights (MSR) market. Molly was primarily responsible for setting up and managing finance and accounting, as well as oversight of human resources, business development, fundraising, legal, and compliance. In the first year of operations, the platform raised over $600mm of capital commitments and grew tremendously.

Previously, Molly worked directly with the portfolio manager of Siguler Guff’s distressed credit opportunities platform where she managed operations for five distressed funds, two debut strategies and several separately managed accounts. Prior to that she was at Fortress Investment Group, where she served in two unique roles focused on real estate securities. She was one of the first accounting hires brought on during the spinout of New Residential Investment Corp (NYSE: NRZ) and later focused exclusively on the private capital raised for Fortress’ MSR Funds. Molly started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers where she worked in the alternative investments space and focused on global asset management.
